Where can I find an all-encompassing online guide to pet services in a local area?

Q. I just moved to a new city and am trying to find a comprehensive online guide to groomers, vets, doggie day care, dog-friendly restaurants, dog parks, etc. Any suggestions?

A. switchboard.com has business listings by category and location or any online telephone directory

What is the most intelligent, strongest and loyal dog breed?
Q. I don't care what dog you have or that "all dogs are different and depends on training". From ability to be trained and natural strength. What dog is superior to them all?
This means...which one, with all these abilities combined make the best dog.

A. When listing your criteria, you omitted the most important one & that is the dog has to be genetically sound in the head.

There is more than one breed dog that could be described as intelligent, strong & bonds closely with its human pack. The best dog is the one that suits the individuals purpose in having a dog & they are capable of safely handling.

A person might like a Fila, but its not the breed for a novice owner & has very specific requirements in an owner because it *is* naturally protective, strong & bonds closely with its human pack.

Mating a male field spaniel with a female english cocker spaniel?
Q. So, I have a male field spaniel and i want to know what dog breed to mate it with. Is an english cocker spaniel a good match?
What dog breeds would produce a nice gentle, caring dog?
Thanks in advance.

A. Unless your male is a champion bird dog in field trials, or a superior example of his breed - he should not be bred at all. And then, he should only be bred to continue this own breed, not crossed on another breed to make mixed breed puppies.

There is no reason for anyone to be breeding "pet" dogs, the world is way over populated with nice, gentle, caring dogs that are being euthanized by the millions every year. Look at your local shelter or humane society - ours are filled with hunting dogs and pet dogs of all kinds. There are more dogs being produced than there are homes for them.

Just neuter your dog and enjoy him for the delightful companion that he is - don't add to the over population problem.

What should be on a dog and cat sitting flyer?
Q. This summer I'm going to take care of dogs and cats while there owners are on vacation. What should I put on the flyer. I am giving the flyer to my neighborhood.
What could be a slogan I could use?

A. I would recommend putting your name and phone number on there, plus hours or days you will sit. I would make them very attractive by making them in bright colored paper and put some really cute pictures of dogs and cats on there. Also, if you are willing (and strong enough) write on it that you will walk dogs and/or do cat boxes etc.
