What is the cone thing called that a dog wears after a surgical procedure?
Q. I'm looking for a cone for my dog to wear around his head but I'm having problems finding them on-line. Does anyone know what the vet term is for the cone a pet wears after they've had a surgical procedure?

How can I determine if a course is passable before taking it?
Q. I am a graduate on-line student at the University of Washington. My education is free as long as I pass. I somehow ended up taking a class that is beyond my technical skill and will have to withdraw which means I will have to pay for the course. My question is how can I vet the courses prior to taking them to make sure I only take ones I can pass? My degree will be a Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
I'm not looking to take only easy classes. I need to take only classes I can pass.
What is unique about a masters program is you can pick out every class you take. It's different than undergraduate where they have highly directed programs. So I just need to figure out which classes are unpassable and avoid those.
The University of Washington does not allow much time to switch courses if necessary. All course changes must be completed by the 7th calendar day of the quarter, which means you either watch 2 or 3 lectures of the course.

A. Your best bet is to look at the course description (including any listed prerequisites) and talk to the professor beforehand. If that's not possible, then get the syllabus and reading materials ASAP and make sure they look like things you'd be comfortable with. Just how much time do you have to withdraw and switch classes if necessary before you get penalized for it?

Q. We live in Northern VA and my cat needs urgent care for her teeth but i asked a place and $600 is what they charge. The Vet clinic i take her to dont do that kind of job but blood checks and stuff to get her ready for the cleansing + she told me kitty needs to have it done because she is not eating right apparently for the pain build up and gingivitis is causing and soon she will have liver and kidney damage. Anyone knows a place i should take a look maybe on line or something??? Thanks!
A. Be careful about who you go to: some vets that advertise 'low cost' services have lists of complaints with the Better Business Bureau pages long! Many use antiquated equipment and older style, less safe anesthetics to keep those costs down, and have lost more pet's lives while under sedation because of this! Check any place out thoroughly first - don't endanger your pet's life just to save a few bucks.
