How long before i can give my cat flea treatment?

Q. I used Sereant's Silver flea spray(horrible product) on my cat last night, which then lead to him foaming at the mouth and seizing. The fleas have not infested the house yet, i wanted to get rid of them before it was out of control. I bought frontline plus for cats, i am wondering how long i should wait before applying it. I do not want to poison him, but i do not want the fleas to get out of hand in my home. A vets answer would be most appreciated

A. Call the vet about the foaming at the mouth. Wash him in dish soap and wait three weeks before you put anything else on him.

Our dog is puking AND having diarrhea. What are suggestions for what we can do before we take her to the vet?
Q. We have a small Pekingese that is experiencing vomiting and diarrhea. She is 3 months old, we are taking her to the vet in the morning (it's 1 AM over here right now). She won't drink anything right now. The diarrhea is NOT bloody and the vomit is light brown/yellow-ish.
What can we do RIGHT NOW in the short term before we take her to the vet? Quick answers are much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

A. Withhold all food and water, and try to get her to rest. Sometimes all it takes is a rest of old GI tract to settle things down. Dehydration is always a risk, especially with those symptoms in combination, but if she's not able to keep anything down/in, then forcing her to drink or eat will only push her faster to exhaustion.

Get her into the vet the moment that they open in the morning - or, better yet, find an emergency vet and get in NOW. To find one, use google, your local phone book, or ring your regular vet and listen to their message for information on how to deal with an after-hours emergency.

Good luck.

Can a stool sample test for parvo?
Q. Just curious if anyone knows. Want more info read my other questions. And YES, my puppy has an appointment today so no take your dog to the vet answers please.

A. Yes, this is how they do it. I used to be a vet tech.

How much are average chinchilla vet appointments?
Q. I plan on purchasing some soon and I wanted to know how much on average a trip to the vet would cost. I've heard many different prices, but I wanna hear from all the ones that actually care about and take of their chinchillas. I'll even like the actual vets to answer too. Thank you

A. Hi there... prices vary tremendously not only from each veterinary hospital, but also of their location (cost of living influences the prices) and their overhead. Therefore, you would need to ring multiple animal clinics who specialise in chins to learn their service fees. Here in Seattle and vicinity an office visit can be anywhere between $75 - 150 depending where the clinic is located and their overhead.
