How could mu puppy get parvo and he hasn't been outside or around any other dogs?

Q. My puppy is only six weeks old.

A. Well, how long have you had him?
He could have picked it up at the pet store or wherever you got him from.
Also, it can be transmitted from touching something another Parvo puppy touched.
If he's only six weeks old, I'd have to ask why he isn't still with his mother? I like them to be with their mother at the breeder's until they're at least 2 months old.

When will my puppy start acting like a puppy?
Q. My three month old puppy's leg was in a splint for two weeks. My puppy has been walking without the splint, and using his leg for two weeks, but he doesn't play like a puppy should. He dosen't run, jump, or do anything but lie around. I walk him every day, and he doesn't show any signs of pain. When will my puppy start acting like a puppy?

A. When he is taught to be a puppy. I'm guessing he didn't get much playing or "puppiness" when he was in the splint. So he hasn't learned. Play with him and teach him that it's OK to run and jump.

If a puppy is exposed to parvo and catches it how Long after will the puppies gums start turning pale?
Q. How long Aftwr a puppy catches parvo will the gums start to change to pale? Also, how fast does a puppy breath and heart rate? Fast or slow? Faster than a human?

A. a puppys gums will turn pale/white when a puppy is anemic not when it has parvo although in rare cases this does happen a it is NOT a sign of parvo..but if your puppy has pale/white gums TAKE IT TO THE VET anemia is very serious in dogs and can lead to death if not treated...dogs heart rate are always higher than a humans the breathing rate is affected by many factors although you do not want a pup to be breathing really fast if it looks like hyper ventilation try to calm her/him down and TAKE IT TO THE VET

all to often people assume that a animal has a simple problem that can be delt with at home this is mostly never the case and you need regualr vistits to your vet

How to train my puppy pee and defecate at the right place?
Q. My puppy is 2 month old now. Is it possible to train him at this age?

A. To properly train a dog to go to the bathroom at the same time and t do #1 & #2 you need to pu the puppy in a crate while in the house, then take puppy outside to use the bathroom in the same place each time & reward puppy (very important) If puppy doesn't go take back in and put back in the crate and try again in a half hour or so

How soon can my puppy go out after her 3rd vaccinations?

Q. My puppy is 14 weeks old and just had her 3rd round of shots. How soon is it safe for her to go outside?

A. The correct rule is after all the puppy vacines have been completed. Especially the shots for Parvo than you should wait at least 10 days after the date of the shots.

When does a puppy start to eat puppy food?
Q. How old does a puppy need to be when he stops eating milk and starts to eat puppy food?

A. Weaning normally starts towards the end of the 3rd week. I started by offering a little warmed goats milk, holding each puppy on my knee to encourage it to lap. Once that's sorted out, you mix a good quality puppy food with the milk, or just water, into a porridge and after making sure each puppy individually can eat it, start putting shallow bowls down for them all to pitch in. They will need feeding 4 solid meals a day, with mum still topping them up until around 6 weeks at which point she'll be away from them. I also gave my pups a very tiny amount of raw lean hamburger, once a day. It's tempting to give them more to begin with, but at 3/4 weeks, they should still be taking most of their nourishment from mum. By 5/6 weeks, she will probably want to go in to clean up after their meals, and allow comfort suckling - standing up, but that's all.

The transition must be slow so you don't overload their immature digestive systems.

When training new puppy - should I separate him from our older dog?
Q. Or would the new puppy benefit from seeing our older dog doing tricks? We have a 3.5 year old lab right now and are planning to adopt a lab mix puppy. Should I seperate them during trainings or keep them together? Thanks for any tips!
Yes, this will be my first time having two dogs at once, so ANY other helpful advice is welcomed! :)

A. I would do one on one training with the puppy every day, and then do some training with both of them at the same time where the older one will guide the puppy. Also make sure you do one on one with your older one to make sure she is still feeling like the puppy isn't getting all the attention.

At what age do puppy teeth start falling out?
Q. My puppy is 12 weeks old. When will his teeth start falling out and can I still feed him dry food when they do?

A. somewhere in between the age of 4 to 6 months..
yeah, i still fed him dry food when they did fall out, if u want u can mix it with some rice which is softer..
but the teeth dont all fall out at the same time ! it starts at the front teeth, then the sharp pointy teeth, and the back ones can fall out any time. my puppy's back teeth fell out after the front ones..
it can be painful to them, so u can give them some dental chews, or soft chew toys, and it would be a great thing to give them some ice when this happens!
especiallu since ice makes u go a lil numb
